Published in 1965, "Sings Soul Ballads" gathers together a fine Selection of sweet and tender songs. With support in form of the Stax House Band with Booker T. Jones, Steve Cropper, Donald "Duck" Dunn and Al Jackon Jr. put Otis Redding on Soul- Were on the table in his impressive style. Seine Versions of "Nothing Can Change This Love" by Sam Cooke and "It's Too Late" by Chuck Willis can be seen as the improved Versions of the originals. The biggest hit on the Album should become "Mr Pitiful", a nickname Otis Redding should get from a radio DJ in Memphis.
