Roberta Flack is an American singer-songwriter who is best known for her romantic ballads. She rose to fame in 1969 when her first single, "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," became a number one hit. Roberta Flack's standout albums include her 1972 release Killing Me Softly with Her Song, which featured the title track and "Where Is the Love" (with Donny Hathaway). She also released the hit single "Feel Like Makin' Love" in 1975, which was featured on her album of the same name. Her final major release was 1985's Oasis, which featured the hits "Tonight I Celebrate My Love" (with Peabo Bryson) and "Set the Night to Music."
An interesting fact about Roberta Flack is that she was the first female solo artist to win back-to-back Grammy Awards for Record of the Year for "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" and "Killing Me Softly with His Song."
