"Depression Cherry" was recorded and produced in collaboration with Chris Coady in Bogalusa, Louisiana. In general, the new record shows a return by the band to the simplicity of their first albums. The songs are built around their respective melodies, with sparse instrumentation, with live drums once again taking a backseat again taking a back seat. Beach House continue to know how to layer sound after sound, creating wonderful soundscapes and conjure up wonderful soundscapes and melodies that you want to dive right into
