Sergei Prokofiev Vinyl Records
Sergei Prokofiev was a Russian composer, pianist and conductor who is widely regarded as one of the major composers of the 20th century. He is best known for his operas and ballets, as well as his piano and symphonic works.
Prokofiev's most famous works include the operas War and Peace (1941-1952) and The Love for Three Oranges (1919), the ballet Romeo and Juliet (1935-1936), the symphonies Classical (1917) and Symphony No. 5 (1945), and the piano concertos No. 2 (1913) and No. 3 (1921). His songs such as "The Song of the Volga Boatmen" (1917) and "Romeo and Juliet" (1936) have become popular classics.
One interesting fact about Prokofiev is that he was a child prodigy who could play and compose music at a very early age. He was composing by the age of five and his first major work, the Piano Concerto No. 1, was written when he was just 13 years old.
