Sidney Bechet

Sidney Bechet (1897-1959) was an American jazz saxophonist, clarinetist, and composer. He is considered one of the first important soloists in jazz, playing with a wide variety of early jazz bands and orchestras. Bechet was one of the first jazz musicians to make a name for himself, and his influence can still be felt today.

Some of Bechet's most acclaimed albums include Petite Fleur (1956), The Fabulous Sidney Bechet (1956), and The Legendary Sidney Bechet (1957). Some of his most notable songs include "Summertime," "Si Tu Vois Ma Mère," and "Petite Fleur."

An interesting fact about Sidney Bechet is that he was the first jazz musician to be featured on the cover of Time Magazine in 1949.
