Son House was one of the most influential Delta Blues singers and famous for his emotional slide guitar playing. With Father Of Folk Blues he presented himself to the public during the 60's folk revival. The roughness of his charismatic voice and the intensity of the tinny sound of his guitar are always present on this album. The included 9 tracks tell the story of a hard working man as well as the intrigues of life and can be considered today as real jewels of Blues history ? ? be considered. Father Of Folk Blues was created in collaboration with guitarist and harmonica player Al Wilson, a founding member of Canned Heat. This LP version is the rare re-issue of the original 1965 release, and in the early 1920s Son House turned to the blues after his work as a preacher and pastor. He developed his unique playing style, full of emotional levels and rhythmic melodies. During the American folk revival he started to perform mainly for young audiences and became known as Father Of Folk-Blues.
