Space Rock

Space Rock is a genre of music that emerged in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It is characterized by a heavy emphasis on instrumental textures, often with a psychedelic or science fiction-inspired aesthetic. The genre was pioneered by the British band Hawkwind and was further developed by the likes of Pink Floyd, Gong, and Kraftwerk. Space Rock often incorporates elements of progressive rock, ambient music, and electronica, and it typically features extended guitar solos, heavy use of effects, and a driving beat. Space Rock has been influential in a variety of other genres, including shoegaze, post-rock, and even some modern hip-hop.
