Spectrum

Spectrum is an Australian psychedelic rock band, formed in Sydney in 1969 by Mike Rudd, Bill Putt, Ray Arnott and Lee Neale. Their music was heavily influenced by the psychedelic rock of the late 1960s and was also considered part of the progressive rock movement.

The band released their debut album, Spectrum Part One, in 1971, which was followed by Part Two in 1972. Both albums were highly acclaimed and spawned several hit singles, including "I'll Be Gone" and "It's A Shame". They released two more albums, Spectrum 3 and Spectrum 4, in 1973 and 1974 respectively, before disbanding in 1975.

The band's most successful album is their self-titled Spectrum, released in 1975. It featured the hit single "I'll Be Gone" and the classic "How You Satisfy Me". Other standout songs from the album include "Happy Jack", "What About The Music" and "Love Is All Around".

An interesting fact about Spectrum is that the band members went on to form the popular progressive rock band, Ariel. Ariel had a number of hit singles, including "A Word in Spanish" and "Counting the Beat", and released several albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
