The Cleveland Orchestra was founded in 1918 by Adella Prentiss Hughes and has since become one of the most renowned orchestras in the world. They have been performing in Severance Hall, their home venue, since 1931. The Cleveland Orchestra has released numerous albums and singles, some of their most notable albums include Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, Beethoven Symphony No. 5, and Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring. The Cleveland Orchestra has also released several singles, including “Blue Danube Waltz”, “Sabre Dance”, and “The Flight of the Bumblebee”.
An interesting fact about The Cleveland Orchestra is that they were the first orchestra to perform at the White House, in 1981. They have since been invited to perform at the White House several times, including in 2000, during the Clinton Administration.
