The Dream Academy Vinyl Records

The Dream Academy is a British pop/rock band, formed in 1984. The band was founded by singer/guitarist Nick Laird-Clowes, keyboardist Gilbert Gabriel, and bassist Kate St John. The band's debut single, "Life in a Northern Town," was an international hit and earned them a Grammy nomination in 1985.

The band's debut album, The Dream Academy, was released in 1985 and featured their hit single "Life in a Northern Town" as well as the singles "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want" and "The Love Parade." The album was a success and reached #15 on the UK Albums Chart.

Their second album, Remembrance Days, was released in 1987 and featured the singles "Power to Believe" and "Indian Summer." The album was a critical success and reached #14 on the UK Albums Chart.

The Dream Academy's third album, A Different Kind of Weather, was released in 1990 and featured the singles "The Edge of Forever" and "Ballad in 4/4." The album was a commercial failure and failed to chart.

An interesting fact about The Dream Academy is that their hit single "Life in a Northern Town" was written about Swindon, England, a small town in the South West of England. The song was inspired by singer/guitarist Nick Laird-Clowes's childhood memories of visiting his grandparents in the town.
