The Flying Emus are an Australian country music band formed in 1985 by guitarist/vocalist John Kane and bassist/vocalist Kim Kondyurin. The group has released five studio albums, one live album, and numerous compilations and singles.

The band's first album, The Flying Emus, was released in 1986 and was an immediate success. It featured their first hit single "Biggest Disappointment," which topped the Australian Country charts. The album also contained the hits "Someone Like You" and "The Race Is On."

Their second album, Different Things, was released in 1989 and contained the hit single "The Day the Cowboys Cried." This song was later covered by Australian country artist Lee Kernaghan.

The Flying Emus' third album, Heaven and Earth, was released in 1993 and contained the hit single "It's All Right," which topped the Australian Country charts.

The band's fourth album, Little Heroes, was released in 1996 and contained the hit single "Drive On," which topped the Australian Country charts.

The Flying Emus' fifth album, Crazy Things, was released in 2000 and contained the hit single "My Kind of World," which also topped the Australian Country charts.

The Flying Emus have won numerous awards and accolades throughout their career, including three Golden Guitar Awards and the Australian Country Music Association Award for Best Group or Duo.

An interesting fact about The Flying Emus is that they have never officially disbanded, despite not releasing any new material since 2000.
