The Impressions

The Impressions is an American rhythm and blues and soul music group formed in 1958 in Chicago, Illinois. The original lineup consisted of lead singer and songwriter Curtis Mayfield and brothers Arthur and Richard Brooks. They are best known for their string of hit singles in the early 1960s, including "Gypsy Woman", "It's All Right", "Amen", "Keep on Pushing", and "People Get Ready".

Some of their standout albums include "The Impressions" (1961), "The Never Ending Impressions" (1964), and "Finally Got Myself Together" (1968). Their standout songs include "People Get Ready" (1965), "Amen" (1962), "We're a Winner" (1968), and "This Is My Country" (1968).

An interesting fact about The Impressions is that they are the only vocal group to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, first as a group in 1991, and then as individual members in 2018.
