The White Stripes is an American rock band formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1997. The group consists of guitarist and vocalist Jack White and drummer Meg White. The White Stripes released six studio albums and had a number of successful singles, including "Seven Nation Army" and "Fell in Love with a Girl".

Their breakthrough album, White Blood Cells, was released in 2001 and featured the hit single "Fell in Love with a Girl". The album won the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album. The band followed up with Elephant in 2003, which earned them their second Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. It featured the singles "Seven Nation Army" and "The Hardest Button to Button".

Their fifth album, Icky Thump, was released in 2007 and featured the single "Icky Thump". The band's final album, Under Great White Northern Lights, was released in 2010.
