Tony Barber is an English musician, songwriter and producer best known as the former bass player and backing vocalist of the punk rock band The Buzzcocks. Barber began his career in 1976, when he joined the band as a replacement for original bassist, Garth Smith. He played on all the band's major albums from Love Bites (1978) to The Way (1989), and toured extensively with them.
Barber's standout albums include Singles Going Steady (1979), A Different Kind of Tension (1979), and The Buzzcocks (2003). His most notable songs include "Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've)", "What Do I Get?", "Harmony in My Head", "Promises", and "Orgasm Addict".
An interesting fact about Tony Barber is that he is the brother of British singer-songwriter, Steve Barber, who wrote the hit single "This Is the World Calling" for Bob Geldof.
