  • Part 1 (Live in Europe 1967, MOVLP421) was voted Historical Album Of The Year in the Down Beat Readers and Critics Poll. Bootleg 2: Live In Europe 1969 skips two years and records Davis with his "third great quintet", also known as "The Lost Band" from 1969-'70.

This line-up consisted of Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Dave Holland and Jack De Johnette in their prime - they were never recorded in the studio. Their 1969 European tours are some of the only existing recordings of the group; the first legitimately released audio recordings of this stellar line-up.

Bootleg 2: Live In Europe 1969 captures the short-lived quintet in three separate concerts on 4 LPs, with excerpts from two nights at the Festival Mondial Du Jazz D'Antibes in France and an evening in Stockholm, Sweden. Special recordings include a pre-release version of "Bitches Brew", which was recorded a few months later in the studio for the famous record of the same name.

The audio sources from Live In Europe 1969 have been remastered from the highest quality masters available, secured from the European broadcast centers where the material was originally recorded.

Music On Vinyl proudly presents the second instalment of the highly acclaimed Miles Davis bootleg series on pristine 180 gram vinyl!
