Foster The People are back with new music in 2024 after three years. Just in time for summer, the three-time Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum band are releasing a song that shines like the sun or, alternatively, like a glittering disco outfit, because ťLost In SpaceŤ is full of late 70s greatness. With ťLost In SpaceŤ, Foster The People are celebrating their debut on Atlantic Records and at the same time announcing their fourth studio album. It is titled ťParadise State of Mindť and is eagerly awaited seven years after their last long player #Sacred Hearts Club#.
The album began as a case study in the crossover of disco, funk, gospel, jazz and all those sounds of the late 70s. It was a very special time when these different styles of music were quoting each other # Artists like Nile Rogers and Chic, the Tom Tom Club and Giorgio MoroderŤ, says Mark Foster. #I wanted to immerse myself in that time and get a feel for what was going on. I also thought about what musical and social parallels there are to our own time, with the massive recession in the 70s, the political unrest after Vietnam and other great tensions. And then, in contrast, you have music that expresses pure joy. You can't help but see it as a defiant gesture of resistance.
