Vangelis – Heaven And Hell (Speakers Corner)

Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassiou, Vangelis for short, always works with the latest synthesizer machinery and sometimes pushed his sound cascades to the limit of electronic overkill. Unlike many other AC tinkerers of his time, Vangelis was able to "craft important melodies and develop them further without getting lost in the technology" (Stereo Review).

Distant human voices, siren-like lost calls lead into oriental dance. In the as it were time-distant singing between Gregorian and antiphonal shimmering noise. Polyphonic Bösendorfer playing reminds us that every musical form of expression is welcome in the stream of time. What sounds heavenly or hellish in the process is something everyone must find out for themselves while listening. It should be revealed that one is musically inconceivable without the other.

This Speakers Corner production was made using analogue master tape and mastering 100% pure analogue. All licenses and GEMA fees have been paid.
