The eagerly awaited debut album "Build A Problem"! At 25, Dodie was already in the middle of life. Much of this was reflected in the videos as she made a name for herself online as a singer-songwriter. Millions of fans began to follow her work and were enchanted by her disarming honesty and her very intimate and touching way of singing.
She played headline shows at London's Roundhouse and the Hollywood Palladium before she had even released a first album and her two EPs to date have reached the Top 10 charts in both the UK and the USA. Dodie is not one to rest on her laurels. On "Build A Problem" you can tell that she is developing into an exceptional musician.
She uses unusual modes, writes complex string arrangements and infuses each song with a sense of lovely connection. She wrote most of the songs on the album over the last two years. Although the themes surrounding "Build A Problem" are very difficult and at times painful, the album doesn't sound like it. The way Dodie crafts her music is meticulous and anything but thrown together.
