The shifting dimensions of "Masana Temples," the fourth album by psychedelic explorers Kikagaku Moyo, are shaped by various experiences the band members have had on their journey through life together, from months of touring to a pilgrimage to Lisbon to record the album with jazz musician Bruno Pernadas. The band sought out Pernadas both out of admiration for his music and with the intention of working with a producer who came from a very different background

With "Masana Temples" the band wanted to challenge their own ideas of psychedelic music. The folk and rock elements of the band are still intact, but they are sharper and more defined. More than a literal interpretation of a journey, the album's ever-changing sonic panorama reflects the band's spiritual connection as they move through it all together. The music is the product of time spent in motion, and all the bent mindsets that come with it.
