Warrant
Warrant is an American glam metal band formed in 1984 in Hollywood, California. The band achieved success in the late 1980s and early 1990s with five albums reaching international sales of over 10 million.
The band’s most successful album is their 1989 debut, Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich, which sold over two million copies in the United States and spawned the hits “Heaven”, “Sometimes She Cries”, and “Down Boys”. Their second album, Cherry Pie (1990), featured the title track, “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”, and “I Saw Red”, and was certified triple-platinum. The band’s third album, Dog Eat Dog (1992), featured the single “Machine Gun”, which reached #1 on the Billboard Album Rock Tracks chart.
Warrant’s most popular songs include “Heaven”, “Cherry Pie”, “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”, and “I Saw Red”.
An interesting fact about Warrant is that lead singer Jani Lane was the original lyricist for “Cherry Pie”, but the song was later rewritten by bassist Jerry Dixon.
