Wendy Waldman is a singer-songwriter and producer who was born in Los Angeles in 1951. She has been writing, recording and performing since the early 1970s and has released over a dozen albums throughout her career. Her most successful solo album was her debut, Love Has Got Me, which was released in 1973. Other standout albums include Pure and Simple, which featured the hit single “Rock N Roll Gypsy” and her live album The Best of Wendy Waldman Live.

In addition to her solo work, Waldman has written songs for many other artists, including Linda Ronstadt, The Pointer Sisters, and Amy Grant. She also produced albums for many different artists, including America and The Four Tops. In 2004, Waldman was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

An interesting fact about Wendy Waldman is that she was the first female artist to be signed to a major record label (Warner Bros. Records) in the 1970s. She was also one of the first women to be accepted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
