Yazoo Vinyl Records

Yazoo is a British synthpop duo formed in 1982 by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke and singer Alison Moyet. The duo had a short but successful career, releasing two albums and a handful of singles before disbanding in 1983. Yazoo's debut album, Upstairs at Eric's, released in 1982, was a critical and commercial success. It included the hit singles "Only You", "Don't Go" and "Situation". The album peaked at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and has since been certified Platinum. Their second and final album, You and Me Both, released in 1983, was also successful, peaking at No. 5 on the UK Albums Chart and featuring the hit singles "Nobody's Diary" and "Sweet Thing". Some of Yazoo's most memorable songs include "Only You", "Don't Go", "Situation", "Nobody's Diary", "Sweet Thing", "Ode to Boy", "Winter Kills" and "Goodbye 70's". An interesting fact about Yazoo is that Alison Moyet initially turned down Vince Clarke's offer to join the band, as she had recently given birth and was feeling exhausted. However, Clarke eventually convinced her to join and the rest is history.
