Which band can claim that a sneaker was named after them? The Alkaline Trio, at any rate, has been named after Nike since 2008. A marketing gag, which could not keep the three from their uncompromising punk rock in the long run. This is proven by "My Shame Is True", the eighth studio album of the band from Chicago.
Recorded with Descendents and former Black Flag drummer Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore as producers, "My Shame Is True" propels the band into new musical territory. From the melodic opener "She Lied To The FBI" to the first single "I Wanna Be A Warhol," vocalist Matt Skiba, bassist Dan Andriano and drummer Derek Grant know how to live their energetic, hook-driven punk rock to the fullest.
Guest vocals include Tim Mcllarth of Rise Against, who joins in on the punk rock anthem "I, Pessimist."
"My Shame Is True" cements the band's status as one of the genre's most successful groups.
