Three months before his tragic death, Chet Baker recorded this album in 1988 as a quartet (together with Philip Catherine, Egil Kapstad and Terje Venaas) at Studio Sysmo, Paris (February 17 & 18, 1988) under the direction of producer Jon Larsen.
The recordings were initially only released on vinyl in Norway in the 90s, but in 2024 "Late Night Jazz" (including a vocal performance by Chet Baker on "How High The Moon") was finally released on CD and LP outside Scandinavia. Including a 28-page booklet with previously unreleased footage and 3 additional alternative tracks.
