"The first damned" is a demo compilation by Polish technical death metal band Decapitated!

The road to heavy metal fame is littered with the crumpled bodies of musicians who didn't have the talent, opportunity or dumb luck to make it. But sometimes greatness is there from the start, and it's bands with that magical, indefinable, special something that seem to follow a predestined path to triumph.

This is certainly true of Decapitated from Poland. Decapitated are widely and rightfully recognized as one of the most important and consistent death metal bands of the 21st century. With their idiosyncratic and always crushing sound, relentlessly copied but never equalled, the band led by guitarist Waclaw 'Vogg' Kieltyka is a contemporary legend with a near flawless creative catalogue.

But even born heroes have to start somewhere, and the story of Decapitated began in Krosno, Poland, a long, long time ago, with the simple passing of the metal torch from one family member to the next...
