"Mr. Wonderful", the second FLEETWOOD MAC album with Peter Green in the band, followed the immensely successful self-titled debut album. With its hard, psychedelic and raw blues, the album is considered one of the classics of the sixties.
Adding to the album's raw energy is the fact that the band recorded the album directly in the studio - without using a mixing board. The album featured Christine Perfect (later Christine McVie) of CHICKEN SHACK on keyboards and employed a horn ensemble. Among the terrific songs on this album are "Love That Burns," "Coming Home" and "Dust My Broom" by ELMORE JAMES.
Reviews
"Chicken Shack keyboardist Christine Perfect (who would later be named McVie after marrying Fleetwood Mac's then-bassist ...) provided variety, no less than four saxophonists provided fresh drive, and the mix of different composers on the songs seemed to fit as well..."
