On October 5, "Blade Runner 2049", the sequel to the legendary 1982 science fiction classic "Blade Runner", which was finally released in German cinemas. At least as epochal in style as Ridley Scott's visual aesthetic was the soundtrack by Greek electronic pioneer Vangelis.
Two great composers of our time are now following in his gigantic footsteps: Oscar winner Hans Zimmer (Inception, The Dark Knight, Dunkirk, Gladiator etc.) and Golden Globe nominee Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Hidden Figures, Annabelle: Creation etc.). Together, the two created a more than worthy successor to the 35-year-old masterpiece, using, among other things, the "star of the original film score" - a Yamaha CS80 synthesizer - as well as many cutting-edge synthetic sound generation techniques.
