  • Long nights, rushing parties, changing male company and breakfast in front of the shop window of the noble jeweller determine the life of the dazzling Holly Golightly, behind whom a dyingly bourgeois name with a poor existence is hidden. All the richer is the musical ceiling that Henry Mancini spreads out at the feet of the shrill, money-married lady

With the exception of the gently melting world hit "Moon River", Mancini and the Hollywood musicians mix a lot of sugar-sweet sound with the necessary bitter substances to glaze the complicated personality profile of the lady. So you spice up fresh big band sound with a rebellious trumpet solo ("The Big Blowout") and a lovely violin melange with a suspiciously devoted male choir ("Breakfast At Tiffany's"). As you know there is a lot to dance in the movie, among others in Latin American rhythm ("Latin Golightly") and Mambo-Groove ("Loose Caboose"). At the end even the "Moon River" swings up to a ratcheting Cha-Cha-bobble, as if to say that a Happy End doesn't have to sound sentimental at all. Another Mancini melange at Speakers Corner is in the "Pink Panther" soundtrack.
