Leonard Cohen – Recent Songs

In contrast to the psychodrama about the Spector-dominated Death of a Ladies' Man, Recent Songs, recorded in the spring of 1979 at A&M Studios in Hollywood, sounds very clear by comparison. The album had a largely acoustic, Eastern-tinged flavor and featured vocals by Jennifer Warnes and newcomer Sharon Robinson, who would later become one of Cohen's favorite musical collaborators.
