  • The year 2000 saw the release of the first album by Merrill Beth Nisker, better known to the world as Peaches. The electroclash artist and performer from Toronto, who lives in Berlin, set groundbreaking accents on her debut right from the start: "... sucking on my titties ... sex on the beaches, that's in the teaches of Peaches," she sings on "Fuck The Pain Away," the album's opener. She's happily accompanied by her MC 505 groovebox and its minimalist oldschool electro beats. The rest of the story is known.

    After "The Teaches Of Peaches" the protagonist quickly becomes the most exciting live performer of the new millennium and Electroclash conquers the feuilletons and theatre stages, at least in Germany.
