  • Twenty-five years have passed since Pearl Jam released their fourth studio album, "No Code." For the anniversary, record lovers among PJ fans can look forward to a special reissue.

"No Code" was originally released on August 27, 1996, and the album sessions saw the band working with producer Brendan O'Brien for the third year in a row, as well as drummer Jack Irons, who had joined the band at the end of the "Vitalogy" sessions, for the first time. The band explored new approaches to writing and recording, developing songs out of jam sessions and giving way to their stadium grunge style in favour of self-questioning ballads, garage rock, worldbeat and psychedelic sounds.

The songs "Who You Are", "Hail, Hail", and "Off He Goes" appeared as singles. "No Code" became the band's third number one album in the U.S., and it also reached the top of the charts in other countries, including Australia, Canada, Denmark, New Zealand, Portugal, and Sweden. In Germany, it landed at No. 6. At the same time, it was also the first Pearl Jam album not to achieve multi-platinum status and was only certified platinum by the RIAA in the United States.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, "No Code" has been reissued on 150-gram black vinyl. It is the first time the album has been available in this format since its original release. The packaging is faithfully recreated, including a set of nine recreated Polaroids / lyric cards.
