  • Ten years after the tragic death of Esbjörn Svensson, the remaining e.s.t. members Magnus Öström (drums) and Dan Berglund (bass) joined forces with Bugge Wesseltoft to form a Scandinavian supergroup called Rymden.

    Rymden stands as a trio formation with a newcomer in the middle: Norwegian Bugge Wesseltoft sits at piano, Fender Rhodes and electronics. His liberated jazz aesthetic opens up a wide space between club-ready beats and world music folklore and has already brought him worldwide fame, both solo and in countless collaborations. The musicians of the trio have already set new standards in European jazz: the Swedish trio e.s.t. (esbjörn svensson trio), formed in 1993, and the New Conception Of Jazz, founded shortly afterwards by pianist Bugge Wesseltoft in Oslo, Norway.

    Dynamically highly variable, the three grand masters create colorful soundscapes that offer a huge spectrum of great emotions, from lyrical melancholy to Nordic clarity to groovy intricacy. What makes "Rymden" immensely attractive and sets new standards.
