Probably only a few had expected this. In 2016 The Last Shadow Puppets present their new, second studio album "Everything You've Come To Expect". The Brits have kept their fans waiting for a successor to "The Age Of The Understatement" for a whole eight years.
No wonder, Miles Kane was busy with his band The Rascals and most recently with his solo project. Meanwhile, Alex Turner released three new number one albums with his Arctic Monkeys.
For "Everything You've Come To Expect" Kane and Turner worked together again with drummer James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco), who also produced the album. On bass they got support from the American Zach Dawes of the Mini Mansions, for the string arrangements provided once again Owen Pallett.
Together they went to Rick Rubin's Shangri La Studios in Malibu, California, where the band recorded a total of eleven new songs, including "Bad Habits", the first single from "Everything You've Come To Expect". This is a loud, haunting, somewhat chaotic psychedelic indie rock song with a rolling bassline and ever prominent string accents - a successful foretaste of the Patte.
According to Last Shadow Puppets, Everything You've Come To Expect is the second album in a trilogy they plan to release. The album cover features a photo of singer Tina Turner, taken by American photographer Jack Robinson in November 1969.
