Blood Incantation's "Absolute Elsewhere" is unlike anything you've ever heard before. Few bands have mastered musical turning points as perfectly as this quartet from Denver, Colorado. At approximately 45 minutes in length, the two song compositions on this album are as disorienting as they are engaging in their scope. They combine the 70s prog leanings of Tangerine Dream (whose Thorsten Quaesching can be heard on "The Stargate (Tablet II)") with the deadly intent of Morbid Angel.
Blood Incantation have already proven that they have perfected progressive death metal with "Hidden History of the Human Race" (2019), while with "Timewave Zero" (2022) they delved into exclusively synth-driven soundtrack territory. Now, with "Absolute Elsewhere", which takes its title from the mid-'70s prog collective (best known as a heavenly stopover for King Crimson drummer Bill Bruford), Blood Incantation leave the notion of genre behind and write a new language for extreme music itself.
