"The Hateful Eight" is the name of Quentin Tarantino's new western, which premiered in Los Angeles in December 2015.Like every film by the cult director, "The Hateful Eight" lives not only from its story and gifted actors such as Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russell, but also from its soundtrack. For the new film, Tarantino therefore had the entire music composed for the first time. The director commissioned none other than the Italian composer and conductor Ennio Morricone. Morricone had already written the film music for numerous westerns, including the famous soundtrack to "Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod" and the music for the Bud Spencer classic "A Fist Goes West". With "The Hateful Eight", Morricone now provides a fitting musical setting for the film of the same name.In addition to the composer legend, other masters of their trade also immortalised themselves on the soundtrack. The White Stripes and Roy Orbison are also represented with one track each. This soundtrack already has cult status: "The Hateful Eight" is the result of a collaboration between legends. A milestone in the history of film music.
