Grunge

Grunge is a subgenre of alternative rock that emerged in the early 1990s in the Pacific Northwest, particularly in Seattle and its surrounding areas. It was created from the fusion of punk rock, heavy metal, and other musical styles. Grunge music is characterized by its raw, distorted sound, aggressive and angst-filled lyrics, and a generally downbeat attitude. It became popular in the early 1990s, with bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains becoming some of the most well-known acts. Grunge's popularity quickly spread around the world, and it became one of the most successful music genres of the 1990s.
