"Purple Rain" is Prince's sixth studio album. It was originally released on June 25, 1984, and reached number one on the U.S. charts, where it stayed for a full 24 weeks. The record's most famous songs include the singles "When Doves Cry", "Let's Go Crazy", the title track "Purple Rain" and "I Would Die 4 U", all of which reached the Top 10 on the American charts.
The picture on the new picture disc edition shows the singer and musician on a motorcycle, the same motif as on the cover of the album.
