The band is comprised of Tom Johnston (vocals, guitar), Patrick Simmons (vocals, guitar), Michael McDonald (vocals, keyboards), John McFee (vocals, guitar, steel guitar), Tiran Porter (vocals, bass), and Keith Knudsen (drums, percussion, vocals).
The Doobie Brothers have released thirteen studio albums and have sold over 40 million records worldwide. Their most successful albums include Toulouse Street (1972), The Captain and Me (1973), What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits (1974), Stampede (1975), Minute by Minute (1978), and Cycles (1989).
The band's biggest singles include "Listen to the Music," "Long Train Runnin'," "China Grove," and "Black Water," all of which have been certified gold.
An interesting fact about The Doobie Brothers is that Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins wrote the hit song "What a Fool Believes" together, with McDonald writing the lyrics and Loggins the music. The song became a huge hit and earned the band two Grammy Awards in 1980.
