The eleven tracks on "Blood Pressures" have everything that makes up the music of The Kills: dirty guitars, driving rhythms and lyrics that are as intelligent as they are sexy. Compared to their predecessors, the duo's musical superstructure has noticeably gained weight: In addition to a fuller sound, Hince and Mosshart show themselves clearly more experimental and multi-layered, but also more harmonious. In terms of content, The Kills remain true to themselves - the lyrics are honest, deeply felt and sometimes simply heartbreaking. Recorded by Hince and Mosshart alone, the album is once again emphatically casual and not at a loss for an answer, but also reveals a new thoughtfulness, even wistfulness and vulnerability in the lyrics. With "Blood Pressures" the band asserts its position as one of the most vital in the current music scene. "Blood Pressures" is the fourth album from The Kills, following "Midnight Boom" (2008), "No Wow" (2005) and the debut "Keep On Your Mean Side" from 2002.
