The album "Israelites" was first released in 1969, and after the single of the same name became a big reggae (world) hit, Desmond Dekker & The Aces released an album combining tracks of the same musical style, surfing the wave of the single's success
Although the LP was very successful and was released over the decades in various variations with different covers and track listings, the original has not been reissued to date. Thus, this new vinyl edition is only the second vinyl reissue of this album, on 180g heavyweight vinyl and remastered from the original analog master tapes
It is amazing that Desmond Dekker maintained his musical success over three decades, collaborating with musicians as diverse as Robert Palmer (who produced his album "Compass Point") and Jimmy Cliff. Desmond Dekker died in 2006 and is still considered one of the most important representatives of ska and reggae.
